Export your SoundID Reference calibration profile and run directly on the ADAM Audio A Series & Sub PRO built-in hardware DSP.
In this article:
ADAM Audio A Series & Sub PRO integration
With the SoundID Reference and ADAM Audio integration, you can export calibration profiles and import them straight onto your A Series speakers and Sub PRO subwoofer.
A Series can also be used together with the Sub PRO. See the system requirements and step-by-step guides for each combination below:
A Series speakers
Follow this step-by-step guide to set up with the A Series speaker integration (without the Sub PRO).

- A Series speakers (A4V, A4V, A7V, A44H, A77H, A8H); available in ADAM Audio Shop.
-
SoundID Reference software & measurement microphone:
- Stereo calibration: Speakers & Headphones license required.
- Stereo & Multichannel calibration: Multichannel license required.
- ADAM Control app installed; download here.

Hardware setup & speaker measurements
- Connect all speakers and in ADAM Control Select Your Configuration
- Set the Adaptation (voicing) to Pure.
- Use default values (0.0 dB) for speaker Level and Delay.
- Make sure the speakers equalization is set to default (flat).
- Double-check the backplate of the monitors, as the same results should be applied and visible.
- Select Sonarworks (top-right corner).
- Click on Start measurement. Complete the measurements; Save and finish.
The SoundID Reference Measure app will guide you through the speaker measurement process. If you're having difficulties following the process, or there's an error message, we recommend following this guide: SoundID Reference speaker measurement troubleshooting guide.
Profile export & import
- Launch SoundID Reference standalone app and load your calibration profile (create an output preset).
-
Adjust the preset DSP settings (Target Curve, Listening Spot, Dry/Wet, etc.) - these settings adjustments will also be included in the profile export.
Note: Make sure Calibration is Enabled before exporting. - Navigate to your preset in the left sidebar and click on '⋯' (the three-dot menu) > Export.
- Select your export target device, and proceed with the export instructions in the app.
Note: For exact details on what's included in the profile export, see the What's included in the profile export? section below.
The exported calibration profile will be saved as an ADAM export file (e.g. stereo_speakers.adam) and needs to be loaded into the ADAM Control software:
- Launch the ADAM Control Software.
- Click on Sonarworks in the top-right corner.
- Select Start new Measurement.
- Select Import or Drag & Drop the .adam file in the shown field.
- Confirm and verify your speaker channels.
- Click the 'Apply' button to apply the calibration profile.
A Series speakers with Sub PRO
The A Series speakers and Sub PRO can be used together in two calibration modes:
- Stereo Bass Managed: Using the Sub PRO internal Crossover.
- Stereo Full Range: No crossover, speakers and subwoofer perform full range.
The calibration profile is stored on the Sub PRO subwoofer DSP, and it calibrates the two satellite speakers too. This allows you to switch between the Bass Managed and Full Range modes with a single click in the ADAM Control app.
Important: Multichannel calibration support (2.1-9.1.6) is currently not available with Sub PRO.
System & license requirements
- A Series speakers (A4V, A4V, A7V, A44H, A77H, A8H); available in ADAM Audio Shop.
- Sub PRO subwoofer (Sub8 PRO, Sub10 PRO); available in ADAM Audio Shop.
- SoundID Reference for Speakers & Headphones permanent license.
- SoundID Reference measurement microphone (software + mic bundles available here).
- ADAM Control app installed; download here.
- Three Ethernet network cables (RJ45) + network splitter/router with at least three network cable ports.
Hardware setup
The integrated measurement mode measures both modes (Bass Managed and Full Range), and the full process takes around 40 minutes to complete:
-
Connect the speakers and the subwoofer:
- Connect your audio interface L-R output channels to the L-R Inputs on Sub PRO.
- Connect your A Series speakers to the L-R Outputs on Sub PRO.
- Connect Sub PRO and each A Series speaker to a network splitter/router using Ethernet network cables; connect the splitter/router to the computer.
- Power ON the subwoofer and the speakers, and launch the ADAM Control app.
- Select Stereo during the "Select Your Configuration" screen in ADAM Control > Continue.
- Click on Assign to ensure speakers and subwoofer are connected correctly.
- Note: If Update shows next to a device, run Update Firmware (top-right corner) first.
- Click on the Sonarworks tab > Start Measurement > Continue (measurement mode).
- Adjust the Crossover, Phase Delay, Level and Delay if needed, or keep the default, Continue.
- Note: Keep the ADAM Control app open throughout the measurement and export process below, don't restart it.
- Launch the SoundID Reference Measure app.
- Select ADAM Audio Sub PRO during the Hardware Setup stage.
The SoundID Reference Measure app will guide you through the speaker measurement process. If you're having difficulties following the process, or there's an error message, we recommend following this guide: SoundID Reference speaker measurement troubleshooting guide.
Speaker measurements & profile export
- Complete the Bass Managed Profile measurement stage in the Measure app; Save and finish.
-
Export the Bass Managed profile via the SoundID Reference standalone app:
- Click on Open Reference app in the "How to apply calibration" screen (keep the Measure app open).
- Add new preset in the SoundID Reference standalone app, and load the Bass Managed profile.
- Click on Export to device > ADAM Audio Sub Pro.
- Complete the export with recommended settings, and click on Show file.
-
Import the profile via the ADAM Control app:
- Return to the Bass Managed Setup in the ADAM Control app.
- Click on Import, or drag-and-drop the file.
- Wait for the "... Profile imported successfully" message; Continue and return the Measure app.
- Complete the Full Range Profile measurement stage in the Measure app; Save and finish.
- Export and Import the Full Range profile (complete the Steps 2 and 3 again).
Tip: Click on the Sonarworks tab in ADAM Control to verify: both profiles (Bass Managed and Full Range) should both show up as Loaded, with their calibration file names displayed. You can always use the "🗑” Bin button to remove the profiles, or update them by clicking on Import Profile or Remeasure.
Calibration Limit modes
SoundID Reference offers three calibration limit modes when exporting the profiles:
- No Boost (0 dB)
- Normal (12 dB)
- Reduced (6 dB)
It's recommended to use the No Boost (0 dB) setting when you're exporting your profile to ADAM Audio A-Series. The other modes can provide you with a bass boost if you are lacking the punch; however, the superposition of sound waves leads to the cancellation or amplification of the overlapping amplitudes. If you have amplified the bass signal, the reflected signal is also amplified, which only leads to more cancellation. At the same time, the addition of a wave at another point in the room is amplified even further.
Therefore, the recommendation is to export the calibration profile using the No Boost (0 dB) export and treating massive dips in the bass range with positioning and room acoustics instead.
Frequently asked questions
What's included in the profile export?
The exported calibration profile will include the following information and DSP settings adjustments by default:
- Calibration profile
- Target Mode
- Dry/Wet
- Listening Spot
- Limit Controls
- Preset Name
The exported calibration profile will not include the following information (your target device may use its own processing solutions for these DSP features):
- Output Gain: the gain control will take place on the integration device.
- Filter Type: processing will take place on the integration device, using its own filter solution.
- Safe Headroom: the values are exported in the profile, but might be applied differently on different integration devices.
Note: Make sure that Calibration is Enabled before exporting the profile so that Calibration and all DSP settings are successfully included in the export.
