Installation fails - error 2738

If the installer fails with error 2738, this is because a feature is missing. The Windows 24H2 update has made the VBScript optional, as a 'Feature on demand'. As this is no longer present by default, the installer will fail.

Solution

Our developers are aware and looking into alternatives. Meanwhile, the solution below should enable a successful install. In order to run the SoundID VoiceAI installer, VBScript has to be enabled manually, so the necessary .vbs file can be opened. This can be done via the "Optional features" settings. Follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Optional features in System Settings (use Search) > View features.
  2. Type "vbs" in the Added features field to search for VBSCRIPT.
  3. Enable VBSCRIPT by ticking the checkbox.
  4. Click Close at the bottom.
  5. Reinstall SoundID VoiceAI (download here).
