Privacy & Security permissions

Microphone access permission

The microphone access permission is needed for the SoundID Reference standalone and Measure apps to receive an input signal. If this permission is removed after updating to Tahoe, enable it in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone.

Local Network access permission

Our tests indicate that additional Local Network access permission is required in some cases. Our development team hasn't yet concluded why the permission is asked for, but it is likely another way of asking for the Microphone (system input) permission due to how the microphone might ne configured on the system/local network.

We recommend granting this permission, if you see the prompt appear:

Allow SoundID Reference to find devices on local networks.pngimage (24).png

I am using Macos Sequoia, it works fine, but when the machine goes to sleep, it stops working. Sometimes I had to restart the machine to get it working again.

Is there any update on a timeline for Tahoe support? Tahoe was available to developers, albeit in preview and beta forms, for quite a while. Now four months have passed since FCS of the official release. I've become accustomed to you guys lagging behind, but it's still disappointing.

Yes - what is happening with Tahoe support?  Tahoe is already on its fourth version!  Even Avid ProTools now supports OS26 - and they are notorious for taking their time!  This is very disappointing.

Hi Sonarworks Support,

SoundID Reference is still not supported on macOS 26 Tahoe, even though Tahoe has been available for months. I rely on SoundID Reference for daily music production, so this is causing serious disruption.

Could you please share:

The current status of Tahoe compatibility, and A realistic ETA for full support (including any limitations)?

Also, if there’s a stable workaround or approved beta version, please let me know.

Thank you,

Carlo

At this point all of my other macOS audio related apps/daws/software have officially supported Tahoe either at release or within a month. The current macOS release even appears to have had less impact on audio software than some prior major releases, so not sure what is causing the hold up.

Meanwhile I’ve uninstalled Sonarworks while waiting for official support, so unable to use your software. I can’t afford to rely on software that is janky or slow to receive support, hence it’s not installed on my system. When will support happen and why the delay?

Same complaint here as the previous messages. You're losing customers this way..

More than 6 mos after the release of MacOS Tahoe, you all still can’t update your software to be compatible. MacOS 26 likely has less than 6 mos remaining until version 27 is released.

Incredible.  The update to Version 5.13.5 (5.13.5.1210) does NOT include compatibility with MacOS Tahoe!!!

When will support happen and why the delay?

Hi, I migrated to Mac OS Tahoe recently and SoundID Reference is not working. The virtual interface doesn't show up, and playing a test signal when trying to add an output gives sound - but pitched down (like an octave) and very fragmented over the stereo spectrum instead of a clear left right separation. I am running 5.13.5.1210 which is supposed to be Mac OS Tahoe compatible. Please advice. Thank you!
