Processing modes and license types
There are two processing modes in SoundID VoiceAI, and they are equivalent to the license types. The processing mode toggle switch at the top of the plugin allows quick switching between the modes:
- Perpetual mode: Unlimited local processing; requires a one-time payment for a Perpetual license. A simple and fully-featured license option for most users.
- Pay-as-you-go mode: Online processing; requires Tokens (buy Token packs and spend tokens for the amount of processing used). Suitable for infrequent users.
Perpetual license (unlimited local processing)
The SoundID VoiceAI Perpetual license is the simplest and fully-featured license option for most users, featuring access to our current factory database of ~60 voice and creative/instrument presets, unlimited local processing on your computer's CPU, and the processing speed is significantly faster than Pay-as-you-go mode too.
The Perpetual mode also enables the Unison Mode feature for vocal double-tracking (not available in the Pay-as-you-go mode).
Note: While the audio processing takes place on your CPU offline, an internet connection is still required for the license to be recognized and for downloading/updating the database.
SoundID Download Manager
For offline processing in the Perpetual mode, the presets are downloaded via SoundID Download Manager and stored locally. SoundID Download Manager launches automatically when clicking on one of the garyed-out presets (not-yet-downloaded) in the SoundID VoiceaAI plugin. Options are available for installing everything or selecting individual presets.
Once done, the downloaded presets will automatically become available to use in the plugin.

Pay-as-you-go (tokens and minutes)
In the Pay-as-you-go mode, audio processing is cloud-based, and costs are calculated on a per-minute basis. There are no subscription fees or other hidden charges involved, and the SoundID VoiceAI plugin itself is free to download and install.
Pay-as-you-go option is a great option for those who don't want to burden their computer with local processing, or are not looking to use SoundID VoiceAI frequently enough to justify a Perpetual license.
The cloud-based processing takes approximately 2.5x the time of the captured audio duration. It is possible to Reprocess the results for free (limited to 10 times per hour) to minimize excessive artifacts.
Note: The Unison Mode for vocal double-tracking is not available in the Pay-as-you-go mode (available in the Perpetual mode only).
How are tokens calculated when processing audio?
- Processing cost: 600 tokens per 1 minute of audio processing.
- A minimum charge of 70 tokens (7 seconds) applies for each processing instance, followed by increments of 10 tokens (1 second).
- Transpose adjustments to an already processed audio capture will require re-processing
- Free reprocessing with different Transpose settings is available. There is a limit of 10 free reprocessing instances, which resets hourly.
- Tokens will still be deducted if processing is Canceled while in progress.
Before committing to process the entire track, it's a good idea to highlight and process a smaller section of the track first and ensure the results sound good. Here's a realistic example of tokens spent in a specific scenario - vocal replacement for a full song:
- Capturing a 12-second sample of audio on a voice track
- Processing the sample with 5 voice presets and trying 3 different Transpose settings on each preset to find the best fit: 12x5x3 = 180 seconds / 3 minutes = 1800 tokens
- Processing the entire vocal track of 2.5 minutes = 1500 tokens
- Total processing time and token cost: 5.5 minutes = 3300 tokens
Token packs
SoundID VoiceAI token packs can be purchased from your Sonarworks Account:
- Small token pack: 72,000 tokens (120 minutes of audio processing) - 19.99 EUR/USD
- Medium token pack: 180,000 tokens (300 minutes of audio processing) - 39.99 EUR/USD
- Large token pack: 360,000 tokens (600 minutes of audio processing) - 69.99 EUR/USD
A 7-day trial with 9000 free tokens is available in your Sonarworks Account. If you haven't created a Sonarworks Account in the past, sign up here. Note that trial tokens will expire once the trial runs out or once a token pack is purchased.
Note: Unused tokens will expire 12 months after the purchase is made. If multiple token packs are present in the account, the oldest tokens are used first automatically.
Token balance, transaction history, and expiry date
The token balance is displayed in the SoundID VoiceAI plugin and in your Sonarworks Account, where you can also see the Transaction history, usage history, and expiry dates.
Reprocessing in the Pay-as-you-go mode
It is possible to Reprocess the AI processing results for free up to 10 times per hour to minimize excessive artifacts (additional reprocessing will deduct tokens, see below). Free Reprocessing is only available with the same Preset.
After the captured audio has been processed, clicking on the Reprocess button starts processing again with the same source, Preset, and Transpose combination by default. The previous processing result will get overwritten.
Note: If the Reprocessing limit is reached, you will see a message indicating that free Reprocessing is unavailable. If you choose to 'Use tokens', the displayed token amount will be deducted from your token balance.
Frequently asked questions
Are subscription plans available?
No, currently, only the two above license formats are available. A subscription plan might be introduced future if there is a user demand for it.
