Been a Sonarworks user for a good number of years but recent age-related changes to my high frequency hearing has created a slight imbalance between my ears which I find particularly intrusive when using my calibrated HD650s. I am fortunate to have an RME Fireface UFXIII audio interface which has comprehensive EQ facilities that can be tailored to the Left or Right channels only but self balancing is educated guesswork.
Thinking laterally I visited my GP and explained that I work with audio and requested a hearing test which I went for yesterday. I had hoped for a comprehensive EQ/hearing correlation that I could upload to Totalmix but was disappointed to see a hand drawn squiggle hearing response curve as I exited the isolation booth. That's the NHS for you - Envy of the World - apparently!
It would be immensely beneficial if Sonarworks introduced some form of hearing test and calibration to the software. Everything about the current software works wonderfully, so long as the assumption that both your ears perform exactly the same still holds true.
I appreciate that companies often choose to stay away from areas that are deemed to be “medical” but the software would only need to perform within the context of wearing a specific set of headphones and arguably the “hearing test” could be wrapped up within the context of a user hearing calibration of the actual headphone pair rather than headphones being measured on a rig by Sonarworks themselves.

Hi Peter Hannon Thank you for posting!
I have forwarded your feature request to our Product team for review. While I can't promise a timeline for implementation, we do keep track of these requests. Currently, in the Custom Target mode is is possible to make manual adjustments, but I do understand this is not ideal for the purpose of adjusting for hearing loss, as left and right channels can not be adjusted separately.
thanks Marco
