Well guys, I been waiting so long too.

I actually wrote to their support before the heat started to appear in this topic today. And the answer to my questions was:

We haven't had a chance to calibrate this model for the average profile yet, but we will likely get to it at some point in the future (although, we cannot make any promises for when exactly).

I honestly think it's a disgrace that it's taking so long to release a profile for these popular headphones. Why did I buy the software? Honestly, I'm pretty dissatisfied, because somehow support for headphones has declined significantly.

The virtual monitoring pro with in-ear binaural measurement is coming out in two weeks and can already be ordered on Sonarworks website. So I guess that’s the way it’s going to go. I wonder if it will be possible to share profile between users, if it’s the case there will soon be plenty of profiles for the Beyerdynamic DT 1990 pro MK II to choose from… I agree it’s a good alternative, and understandable for the company to survive.

Extremely disappointing. They keep on sending generated response since early days of this year till now. I uninstalled that software and will be looking for other options.

I wouldn’t lose hope.  I was frustrated for lack of the MK2 profile as well, but now I am actually excited about VM Pro.  I do a ton of mixing n a room I know very well, on monitors I know very well.  However, I am restricted to how late I can mix, get stir-crazy sitting in the same room for hours on end etc..  This is going to allow to me continue mixing in bed at night, on the couch, at the coffee shop etc; under practically the same sonic conditions (aside from ambient noise that creeps through the open backs of the DT’s, which I think is a good thing as far as simulating different listening environments.)  Plus, I’ll be able to find my way into some proper studios to capture the acoustics.  I love the idea of shareable user profiles.

Also, doesn’t necessarily mean they will stop the addition of new headphone models to Reference for headphones.

Honestly, how have they not made this yet? Regardless of how many submissions there are, they know it is one of the most popular pairs on the market right now! I can't believe it doesn't exist yet - that is the main thing holding me back from buying a pair to replace my DT770 Pro's.

I would be offended if they stopped or even slowed down updating Reference with more profiles because they now have VM

This is all we can do on our end, so put that request in if you wanna see this model happen.

Hi all,

Thank you for your requests and for standing by.

We have good news, as the Beyerdynamic DT 1990 PRO X MKII profile, along with other profiles, have now been released! No need to update the software, instead load a new preset and load the profile, which is now showing up in the supported headphones list.

Setting up with SoundID Reference on headphones

Happy mixing!

Fantastic, thank you!

Finally 🙏🏾. I do think it’s funny that Beyerdynamic released their own headphone plugin a few days ago and now this magically pops up 😅 but either way, still happy!

Ha!  I hadn't noticed.  Either way, I am happy to now have 2 new points of reference at long last.

Edit:  Got the software and I am glad to have both.  Beyerdynamic now has individual calibration implemented for owners of the 1990 MK2 and others.  Just enter your serial number in their new Headphone Lab software.

Seems like best case scenario would be to use them in tandem: Beyerdynamic Headphone Lab software with their individual calibration > SoundID Reference FLAT calibration profile (AA000A) > SoundID Reference for further virtual referencing.

I'll still be using Virtual Monitoring Pro to check my studio's monitor mix when I am away.
