Cubase hangs when I change the sample rate from within the daw, and after checking the DMP file, Steinberg says its Sound ID causing this. I am running the latest version of SoundID. Here is the dmp file and screen shot from Steinberg forum: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/ey757qbv816ju5gdq8fu2/Cubase13.exe_231129_090453.dmp?rlkey=nt5pfk5ndfq97z55oa8len9x8&dl=0

Hi Mark Montgomery, thanks for your post, sorry to hear there is an issue!
I have opened a support request on your behalf regarding this issue, so our team can look further into it. Thanks!
I'm having the same issue!
same problem on all my systems (6PC wiht Windows10/Cubase12/13)
Hi Mark Tapply and Mathe Kessler, thanks for your comments, sorry to hear you are encountering the issue as well.
This is a known issue with Cubase/Wavelab/Nuendo freezing if the SoundID Reference plugin is instantiated when switching the sample rate or when switching to a project with a different sample rate - our team is aware of this issue and we're looking into it.
I will open up support requests on your behalf, so we can gather some additional details and link your tickets to the development task.
In case anyone else encounters the same or similar issue, please submit a support request.
I have the same problem. I am on Cubase 13 Pro version 13.0.41
Windows 11 Pro with latest updates.
Audio interface : MOTU 896 mk3 Hybrid USB/FW with latest driver
Marcel Couture sorry to hear you are also getting stuck with this!
I have created a support request on your behalf to have a closer look. Meanwhile, the workaround is reverting to v5.6 as shown here: Cubase freeze with the VST3 plugin.
Does Sonarworks still have the same issue about Cubase hanging on startup? What about the new Cubase Pro 14?
When is SoundID reference working on Cubase 14 (Pro)? It is awfully quiet at the front, I think. BTW the work around also doesn't work for me. Still SoundID keeps freezing Cubase.
Hopefully you will work it out in the very near future?
Thnx!
This issue continues… when can we get a fix?
Yes, this has gotten even worse since the last update a few days ago.
It's time to fix this or a work around.
Projects with different sample rates will definitely hang SoundID. My workaround is to open Control Room in "Cubase Pro Hub" and then disable SoundID with Alt pressed. Then you can open the project and enable SoundID again. Before enabling, you can resave the project in the desired sample rate and then enable SoundID
Ha Tomas,
thnx for showing your work around. But for me this also does not work. Please Sonarworks make it work.
thnx Johan
Hi Sonarworks, any update regarding the bug that cubase 14 pro freezes immediately when using reference? I have tried the suggested solutions and workarounds but without succes…
cheers!
Quick update on this issue:
The fix has this problem has finally been implemented, and it is currently in the testing phase. It is expected to be released with the next SoundID Reference update (v5.13); we will follow up on that here and in the direct support threads with the involved users, to let everyone know once it is available.
Meanwhile, Johan de Haaz, I have created a support request on your behalf too, we will have a closer look at why the 5.6 workaround is not doing the trick for you.
Hi Kārlis, merci! Looking forward to it!
