SoundID compatibility with Android 15

In this article:

Is the SoundID App supported on Android 15?

No, the SoundID app does not officially support Android 15 or later. Currently, the application can be used on Android 14 or earlier. Our internal QA team has successfully completed tests on Android 14 devices.

When will it be supported?

We plan to update the app to target Android 15 in the future. However, at this stage, we can’t provide a specific release date or timeline. As always, we’ll share updates once official testing begins or when the new version becomes available.

That said, we’ve received positive feedback from our community indicating that the app may work on most Android 15 devices.

However, performance and stability may vary depending on factors such as:

  • Device manufacturer and model
  • System-level settings
  • Other installed apps and customizations

Because of these differences, we can’t ensure that SoundID will function correctly on every Android 15 device.

Troubleshooting Tips & Tricks

If you are attempting to use the SoundID app on an Android 15 device, see if the following steps resolve known issues.

SoundID Notification Does Not Appear

If the SoundID notification doesn't show up in the App Drawer:

  1. Make sure notifications are allowed for the SoundID app.
  2. Disable battery optimization for SoundID in your phone’s settings.
  3. On some devices, especially from certain manufacturers, you may also need to:
  4. Allow the app to run in the background, and
  5. Disable background service restrictions that may be automatically applied.

SoundID Error: Potential App Conflict

If you see a message that says “SoundID error: Potential app conflict”, it means another app or system function may be using the same system service to affect your audio stream.

  1. Check if you have apps like Wavelet or Sound Amplifier installed. These are known to use similar system resources.
  2. If possible, uninstall the conflicting app.
  3. If you need to keep it installed, make sure its services are turned off before using SoundID Personalization.
  4. Some phone manufacturers include their own sound adjustment or enhancement services. Try disabling those features to prevent conflicts.
  5. If you’re using Bluetooth headphones with high-resolution audio codecs, this issue might occur (especially observed on Google Pixel devices). Try switching to a lower-resolution codec to see if that resolves the problem.
