If you are experiencing an issue with installing SoundID VoiceAI on your computer, this guide provides troubleshooting tips to resolve the problem.

In this article:

Common installation issues

Compatibility and system requirements

Installation issues can be present due to compatibility and system requirements. Before proceeding with any further troubleshooting, check compatibility here: SoundID VoiceAI system requirements.

Installer download issues

Official Sonarworks software installers, downloaded from the Sonarworks Download Center, are virus-free. However, if you are using custom rules for antivirus or firewall protection, the installer can be limited or blocked as potential malware. Since the issue is network-related, check the related solutions below:

  • Check for blocked downloads in your browser (Google Chrome guide, Mozilla Firefox guide).
  • Clear your browser's cache and cookies (Google Chrome guide, Mozilla Firefox guide).
  • Use a different browser for the download process (Microsoft Edge or Safari).
  • Connect to a different Wi-Fi network, or a mobile hotspot (Android guide, iOS guide).
  • Flush DNS (third-party Windows guide and macOS guide).
  • Temporarily disable any VPN or Proxy it for the download process (navigate to "Network & Internet" settings on Windows, "Network" preferences on macOS).
  • Temporarily disable any Antivirus or Firewall protection, consider whitelisting SoundID VoiceAI and/or Sonarworks.
  • Remove blocked Sonarworks domains from your hosts file, see here: Editing the Hosts File.

Preset download issues

Common Assets and presets must be downloaded via the SoundID Download Manager app and saved on your computer for local processing in SoundID VoiceAI Perpetual Mode. If a connection issue is affecting the asset or preset downloads, see this article for a detailed troubleshooting process: "Connection failed" error in SoundID VoiceAI

Full software uninstall

If you have been using a trial version or encountered an installation issue with a new version, we highly recommend fully removing the software and installing the latest public version anew.

For a fully clean reinstall, follow these steps:

  1. Remove the existing VoiceAI plugin instances from DAW.
  2. Uninstall VoiceAI, and remove the leftover files and folders as shown here: How to uninstall SoundID VoiceAI.
  3. Reboot your computer.
  4. Reinstall the latest version, download here.

Windows install issues

VBScript

VBScript (Visual Basic Scripting Edition) is a Windows component that handles automation, task scripting, and embedding logic. This component is required for the MSI installer to run custom actions during the installation process. Windows 11 24H2 update can disable VBScript, and this could cause an error code 2738.

To install VBScript:

  1. Open Windows Settings by pressing the Win + I keys.
  2. Navigate System > Optional Feature > View Features.
  3. Click on the 'See available features'.
  4. Search for VBSript.
  5. To install VBScript, select it from the list and follow the prompts.

Setup Wizard ended prematurely

The installation process may end due to an error, where the SoundID VoiceAI Setup Wizard is unable to modify your system. This indicates that the software was not installed on your machine. To assist with this matter, contact our Support team below. Before filling out the support request, ensure you have prepared the following information for submission:

  1. Open Explorer (Win key + E).
  2. In the address bar, input: %temp%.
  3. Press the Enter key to proceed.
  4. Sort the items by 'Date modified'.
  5. Share the latest MSI text files.
