Start a free trial
The full trial option offers a free 7-day trial for SoundID VoiceAI, fully featured. Starting the trial will automatically activate both processing modes. The trial includes both the Factory Preset Catalog and the Expansion Pack presets too:
- Perpetual mode: local processing featuring all presets (Factory and Expansion Packs).
- Pay-as-you-go mode: cloud processing featuring 9000 trial tokens (15 minutes worth of audio processing), all presets available (Factory and Expansion Packs).
You can switch between the Perpetual and Pay-as-you-go modes during the trial using the toggle switch in the VoiceAI DAW plugin. The processing modes in SoundID VoiceAI are equivalent to the license types; learn more here: SoundID VoiceAI license types: Perpetual and Pay-as-you-go.
- Download and install SoundID VoiceAI.
- Log in to your Sonarworks Account, or create a new account.
- Navigate to SoundID VoiceAI, and click on Start a full trial > Start trial > Open SoundID Download Manager.
- Note: Successful trial activation is indicated by the "Successful login or activation" dialog.
- Load the SoundID VoiceAI plugin in DAW - the plugin will be logged in and activated.
Register and activate a paid license
After purchasing a paid SoundID VoiceAI license (Pertpetual, Pay-as-you-go, or Expansion Packs), the license can be activated and registered as shown below.
Register and activate a Perpetual license
If you have purchased a Perpetual license for SoundID VoiceAI, register and activate it as follows:
- Log in to your Sonarworks Account.
- Click on Register a new license and enter your activation key.
- Click on Activate > Activate on this device > Open SoundID Download Manager.
- Note: Successful activation is indicated by the "Successful login or activation" dialog.
- Return to the plugin in DAW and switch to the Perpetual mode using the toggle switch.
Note: After activating a Perpetual license, "Trial expired" will still be displayed in your account for the Pay-as-you-go mode (tokens).
Activate a token pack (Pay-as-you-go mode)
If you have purchased a token pack for the Pay-as-you-go mode in SoundID VoiceAI, it will be added to your account automatically. From there, all you need to do is activate.
- Log in to your Sonarworks Account.
- Navigate to SoundID VoiceAI and click on Activate > Activate on this device > Open SoundID Download Manager.
- Note: Successful activation is indicated by the "Successful login or activation" dialog.
- Return to the plugin in DAW and switch to the Pay-as-you-go mode using the toggle switch.
Note: After activating a token pack, "Trial expired" will still be shown in your account for the Perpetual mode.
Register and activate Preset Expansion Packs
Similar to the Perpetual license registry and activation process, the Preset Expansion Packs for SoundID VoiceAI require a separate license activation key to be registered and activated in your account:
- Log in to your Sonarworks Account.
- Make sure your Perpetual license (base license) is registered in the same account.
- Click on Register a new license and enter your Expansion Pack license activation key(s).
- Click Activate under your SoundID VoiceAI license - this will activate the expansion pack, and the SoundID Download Manager app will open automatically to start downloading the new presets.

Device management
Most Sonarworks product licenses can be used on up to three computers at the same time, while EDU licenses feature a single activation seat only. The active device management system in the user account allows users to deactivate are previously used device to free up the activation seat for a new one (license transfer to another computer):
- Log in to your Sonarworks Account.
- Click on Manage under your product license.
- Deactivate one of the computers listed.
Important: There’s a limit of 7 deactivation events to prevent license abuse.
Note: Reinstalling your operating system or replacing major hardware components (such as the motherboard or hard drive) will trigger your computer to be recognized as a new device by the licensing system - reactivation will be required.
License removal
Licenses can be easily removed from the user account too. This can be useful there is a need to migrate the license to a different user account, without having to reach out to the Sonarworks support team. Removing the license from the account will also trigger an email notification containing the activation key, so that you can always find it later on.
- Log in to your Sonarworks Account.
- Click on Remove under your product license.
- Click on Remove again to confirm.
Note: License removal from the account is not a valid ownership transfer method. If you wish to sell or give away your license to someone else (another person - new owner), follow the directions below.
License ownership transfer
If you're looking to transfer the ownership of your existing Sonarworks product license to another person, follow the instructions below. It is important to follow this procedure, as it is the only legitimate way of selling or giving away your license to someone else. This will ensure that there are no future issues or conflicts regarding accounts, registry, activation, and product support.
To complete an ownership transfer, both the original and new owner have to submit separate support requests (each individually), and including the following information in the inquiry:
- Full name of the original license owner, and the intended new owner.
- Email address of the original license owner, and the intended new owner.
- License activation key of the product to be transferred.
Frequently asked questions
Can I activate and use SoundID VoiceAI on multiple devices?
Yes, after purchasing, you can activate and use SoundID VoiceAI on multiple devices:
- Perpetual license: activate and use the plugin on 3 devices at the same time.
- Pay-as-you-go mode (tokens): unlimited active devices.
Note: SoundID VoceAI is limited to a single device during trial (one trial instance per device).
How can I deactivate SoundID VoiceAI on my device?
You can deactivate SoundID VoiceAI from your user account by following these steps:
- Log in to your Sonarworks Account.
- Navigate to SoundID VoiceAI and click on Manage.
- Find the device you want to remove and click on Deactivate.
Can I trial the Perpetual mode if I have already purchased tokens?
Yes, you can still trial the Perpetual mode if you have already purchased and activated a token pack for Pay-as-you-go. Trial extensions are available for both processing modes by contacting Sonarworks Support (Submit a request below).
Are the Preset Expansion Packs included in the Perpetual license?
The Preset Expansion Packs for SoundID VoiceAI are a separate purchase - not included in the Perpetual license. In the Pay-as-you-go mode, however, you only pay for what you process, so all presets are included by default (including the Expansion Pack presets).

Is there a free mode available?
No, there is no free mode. While Free Mode was one of the available options for a while, with a limited number of Presets and functionality, this is no longer supported. We recommend using the free trial instead.

The instructions to activate the trial version does not work on my Window 11, Studio One V8 system. Is Sound ID still in business? If so, if I buy a license, will it work on my system. Incredibly frustrating!
