Hi Sonarworks Support,
I’d like to report what appears to be a compatibility issue after updating to SoundID Reference 5.13.7.1299 on July 11.
My system
- Mac mini (2018)
- Intel Core i7
- macOS Ventura 13.7
- Apogee Symphony Mk I
- Symphony 64 PCIe via ThunderBridge
Before the update, I had been running SoundID Reference 5.12 without any issues.
⸻
What happened
Immediately after updating to 5.13.7.1299, SoundID stopped processing audio completely.
No playback was detected inside SoundID, regardless of whether I was playing audio from my DAW or other applications.
Changing SoundID routing did not resolve the problem.
⸻
ThunderBridge / Maestro issue
At the same time, the update appeared to interfere with my ThunderBridge setup.
My Apogee Maestro software became unstable:
- Maestro repeatedly disconnected and reconnected
- The Symphony hardware continuously refreshed
- I experienced unexpected latency
- Audio routing no longer behaved normally
I also noticed that my ThunderBridge Audio MIDI configuration had changed. After restoring the routing, my Apogee system itself returned to normal.
However…
Even after fixing the ThunderBridge routing
I installed SoundID Reference 5.13.7.1299 again.
The exact same playback issue remained.
This indicates that the ThunderBridge routing was not the root cause, since restoring it did not solve the problem.
⸻
Rollback
The only solution was to completely uninstall version 5.13.7.1299 and install the legacy version 5.9.2.5.
After installing 5.9.2.5:
- Playback immediately worked again
- SoundID functioned normally
- My entire system became stable again
I have reproduced this behaviour multiple times.
Could you please investigate whether there is a compatibility issue between SoundID Reference 5.13.7.1299 and Apogee Symphony Mk I systems using ThunderBridge?
If possible, could you also provide a download link for version 5.12, since I was unable to find the installer?
Thank you very much.
Cu
