i am confused - i found different answers to this:
When measuring my speakers/room: i am using the original, newest sonarworks measurement mic on a stand: What is the correct angle for the mic while measuring:
90 degrees (tip facing up towards the ceiling)
0 degrees (tip facing towards the speakers)
30 degrees (tip facing towards the speakers, but slightly upwards)
The official tutorial seems to suggest 0 degrees, but some other sources strongly recommend a different angle.
Can anybody give advice on this?

I’ve had the same question for a long time. Since the mic picks up all directions, wouldn’t we want the body of the mic in the ideal place so as to minimize its the acoustic effect of the sound bouncing of the body? IOW, I feel that ideally the mic would be pointed at the ceiling, with the body influencing the sound on a more vertical plane, since the directionality of our speakers pointed on a horizontal plane means the horizontal plane of our ears’ perception is slightly more important than the vertical plane. Not to mention how the stereo field yielded by our two ears (in a vacuum) is mainly on the horizontal plane as well.
90°/pointed toward ceiling makes so much more sense to me, but the measurement software still says point it 0°/toward the speakers’ center point.
