Measurement: Height position of microphone

Is it critical that the same (listening ear) height is maintained throughout measurements? 

When taking calibration measurements with the reference mic, I didn't see any reference in the manual relating to height-from-floor. As I move around the room to locate the mic by hand to its target, I noticed that this while distance position was critical, the natural way I positioned the mic by hand re height varied slightly.
