Working with Virtual Monitoring

I was wondering about how others use VM?
Is it just something to check every once in a while when mixing or is it intended to be used permanently during the whole mix.
With the new VM Pro we can capture our own environment and I was wondering how to use it best.
Of course verybody has to check and make own comparison but I was just wondering how others use VM.
