Automatic Headphone Profile Switching & Speaker Detection with Global Toggle

As a daily user of SoundID, I greatly appreciate the accuracy and calibration it provides. However, the experience could be vastly improved with automatic profile switching and better handling of device transitions. Here's a breakdown of the core issues and proposed enhancements:

1. Automatic Device-Based Profile Switching

- Problem: Currently, users must manually switch headphone profiles every time they change audio devices.

- Suggested Feature: Implement automatic detection of connected audio devices (e.g., wired headphones, Bluetooth devices) and switch to the corresponding saved profile automatically — just like Wavelet does.

- Why It Matters: This eliminates friction and ensures consistent, accurate sound without requiring repeated user interaction.

2. Separate Profile for Phone Speaker

- Problem: When no headphones are connected, SoundID continues applying a headphone EQ correction to the phone speaker, resulting in poor audio.

- Suggested Feature: Add a dedicated “Phone Speaker” profile or automatically bypass correction when the internal speaker is active.

- Why It Matters: Prevents misapplication of EQ curves and gives users better sound across all device contexts.

3. Global On/Off Toggle with Smart Logic

- Problem: There is no intuitive way to quickly disable SoundID processing across all devices, nor does it intelligently disable when it’s not needed.

- Suggested Feature: Add a master toggle that:
 - Is easily accessible in the UI or notification shade
 - Automatically turns off when no headphones are connected
 - Resumes automatically when a known device reconnects

4. Streamlined Device/Profile Switching

- Problem: Switching devices manually takes too many taps.

- Suggested Feature: Improve the Devices tab UX by:

 - Allowing quicker access from the home screen

 - Reducing taps required to change profiles

Why This Matters

- Creates a truly seamless, professional workflow for producers, audiophiles, and everyday users

- Prevents incorrect sound profiles from affecting listening

- Brings SoundID in line with user expectations set by competing apps like Wavelet

- Encourages broader adoption and retention by simplifying everyday use

Krishna Doodnauth Many thanks for sharing your feedback! Your idea will be shared with our Development team. Unfortunately, we cannot promise that everything you have mentioned will reach a release stage, as some ideas may conflict with the product scope, but nonetheless, we are proactively looking into user feedback to further enhance the product and the experience. Again, many thanks for sharing!
