SoundID reference headphone support with Apollo 16x

I read a few posts mentioning issues when trying to use SoundID reference with multiple Apollo interfaces. Similar to one of these posts, I have an Apollo x16 as a primary and x4 as a secondary audio interface. I have a multichannel SoundID license along with the Apollo integration license running on a Mac connected to a Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 speaker setup. I was able to calibrate my speakers by connecting the mic to a QSC mixer and then connecting a QSC line out to a line input on the x16. I was able to generate a calibration file for the speakers. Where I'm stuck is understanding how to integrate headphone outputs on the x4 in to all of this.  As others have mentioned, SoundID Reference only seems to see the primary interface and an x16 doesn't have headphone outputs. I've verified that the headphone outputs on the x4 do work, but SoundID Reference appears to be blind to them.  Am I missing something or is this simply a shortcoming of SoundID Reference? I'm assuming that headphone support is included with my multichannel SoundID license. Thanks for any tips.

James Kieley thanks for posting! There are two functionaliy conditions here that have to be recognized:

  • The integration works via the dedicated MONITOR and HEADPHONE outputs only (the MONITOR CORRECTION section in Console); it is not possible to apply headphone profiles to other output channels
  • The integration works with the Primary device only, ragerdless of how many Apollo X devices are connected (separately or cascaded)

Most Apollo X models have at least one dedicated headphone output, and some (x6 and x8) have two headphones outputs (you can load two separate headphone profiles simultaneously on these models). However, x16 doesn't have any dedicated headphone outs, so it is not possible to apply headphone calibration on it.

To apply the headphone profile on the x4 instead, simply change the primary device from x16 to x4 (drag the x4 to the top slot in the hardware settings in Console):
