Hello everyone,
I’m currently using SoundID Reference with the Apollo Monitor Correction Addon in the UAD Console, and I’d like to ensure that I’m using both correctly together. My goal is to:
- Apply room correction using the Apollo Monitor Correction Addon in the UAD Console.
- Use Virtual Monitoring in SoundID Reference without adding additional correction (since it's already applied in the UAD Console).
I see that SoundID Reference offers a Dry mode, which I assume would disable the correction while keeping Virtual Monitoring active. However, I’ve read that Virtual Monitoring is designed to work with an unprocessed signal, so I want to confirm:
- Would using Dry mode with Virtual Monitoring be the correct approach?
- Or is there a better way to achieve this setup without interfering with the accuracy of the emulation?
- Would using a Custom Target that applies no correction (by setting the pink bars to affect no frequencies) be a better alternative?
I’d appreciate any guidance on how to best integrate these tools together.
Best regards!
Gonso
