I just installed Sound ID reference that came as a freebie with my new RME interface. It now complains about wanting to update to version 5.12 from 5.9 (Mac). It goes thrrough the process but it doesn actually update. Downloaded it manually - same probelm. Seems like the link goes to the old version.
What's worse: after installig it it seems to mess up videos in Safari. I'll gice it a shot with a new version, otherwise I'll just uninstall since the difference after measuring is really only marginal. I wouldn't spend money on this to be honest.

Exact same problem. On mac mini i7 Catalina. Videos just flash. If i play music the video plays but no sound
Yes. I7 here too. I got it to work in general for audio only. So I can turn it on for mixing if I’m so inclined. Otherwise, it’s turned off and I removed the auto-start feature. It’s borderline useless really.
I received generic instructions from the support team to basically just ignore the update that the software wants to install. Still getting “Core audio needs to restart” errors and such.
Just went ahead and deleted my license and the software. It's buggy and frankly doesn't do much when the profile is active. Glad I didn't pay money for this.
