Driver change needed on Cubase 14 in order to use SoundID Reference?

Hi there,

I work with Cubase 14 Pro, have Apollo 4x (1st generation) and I'm on an Apple MacBook Pro (Intel version). I installed Sonarworks Sound referense for monitors and headphones including the Apollo add-on. Now I realized, when I want SoundID reference to work, I need to change the driver in Cubase to SoundID Reference. This works, but if I want to record, I need to change it back to Thunderboldt UAD and with that all the settings on UAD console. So that's pretty complicated. Is there any easier way?

Thank you!
All the best,

TEYNA

Teyna sorry for the late reply! You’ve probably figured it out by now, but I’ll answer in case it helps others.

Once you’ve applied the profile to your Apollo via the integrated solution, there should be no issues with SoundID Reference. Since calibration runs directly on Apollo X, you don’t need to use the SoundID plugin in Cubase or the standalone app. Just set Apollo as your output and you’re good to go. The SoundID Reference virtual device is automatically disabled after applying the profile, so it shouldn't show up as an output option anymore (not in Cubase or any other app).
