Hello, I would like to make a strong request for offline functionality in SoundID. I’ve encountered recurring issues that I believe should be addressed. On multiple occasions, I've lost my presets and settings because the app inexplicably logged me out, erasing everything. Over time, I learned to back up my presets in a secure location, but every time I log back in, I still need to manually fine-tune each setup based on my measurements.
There have been times when I reverted to Sonarworks 4 because, overall, it has been far more stable. After some time, I’d attempt switching back to SoundID, only to face another crash or forced logout ending up with an empty template again a couple of weeks later.
Just today, it seems your server went offline for some time (and yes, I checked on my end; it wasn't my connection). I couldn't log into the app or website, and received ‘incorrect password’ messages. Without being able to log in, I was also unable to access support. Fortunately, when the server finally came back online, my presets were still there.
However, calling this recurring experience 'annoying' would be an understatement. It bashes me out of any creatieve flow for myself or mixing, mastering sessions i do for clients. And forces me into time consuming bug fix mode while this actually shouldn't be a thing to mind about at all, especially when it happens too many times, or like today that i can't even fix it.
I really hope Sonarworks takes this issue seriously. The problem might run deeper, but I feel allowing offline functionality could resolve a significant part of it. After all, this application is useful, but it needs to operate seamlessly in the background so we can stay focused on our work. Time is already limited, and the app should support productivity, not hinder it.
Cheers! J
