In previous versions of the software, the microphone input indicator shows up as the standalone app requires the microphone permission to create the virtual audio device (the microphone is not actually in use), similar to how some DAWs also report microphone usage, while they would actually use your audio interface for input.
This microphone indicator problem, however, was resolved with the 5.7.3 update last year, which featured a brand new audio driver for macOS. Can you check what is the version you have installed in the app Preferences > License and version info? Also, what is the macOS version that you are using? Many thanks!
Hi! My System Wide says it is up to date but the license says: Reference 4.4.9.11 is the current. macOS Sequoia 15.0.1 (24A348) Reference ID is also up to date. Still have the MIC showing
Pintor The Pintor if you are using Reference 4 (version 4.4.9.11), the mic indicator will be present, as explained above. The indicator was only removed with the new driver in SoundID Reference.
Can you please elaborate on this, are you running both Reference 4 and SoundID Reference on this computer? Keep in mind that Reference 4 is unsupported and discontinued since 2021. The final update introduced compatibility with Windows 11 and macOS 12 Monterey. Attempting to install and use Reference 4 on newer incompatible operating systems (macOS 13 Ventura, 14 Sonoma, or 15 Sequoia) is expected to result in serious issues, as we cannot guarantee that even basic functionality will work. More information on this is available here:
With that said, if you also own a license for the new SoundID Reference, you should uninstall Reference 4 completely, and proceed with the latest version of SoundID Reference (v5.12.0.50). Do you own a license for SoundID Reference, and have the latest version installed? Thank you!
