Why are we forced to use a calibration profile?

Why can't I use SoundID without choosing a “preset calibration profile”?

I'm want to use ONLY the "custom target" curve to make a parametric EQ, but it's not possible?

I expected there would be a preset I could load which would be NONE or EMPTY or INACTIVE or something like that… But there is nothing like that?

Josh Webb the SoundID Reference calibration software is fundamentally based on our supported headphone models and speaker calibration using the Measure app. Making adjustments with no calibration profile is not the focus of our product - there are many other tools and products that can be used for this purpose.

However, what you're asking for is actually possible using the AA000A profile, which is just a flat, no-correction profile. See in this post here: Fully custom EQ profile?

Cheers.

It would be handy if there was a “flat no-correction profile” for speakers also.

Hi Kārlis Stenders, thanks for this info, it would be super handy if you folks could somehow make available (on a dropbox link maybe?) a .swproj that was just a completely flat /  neutral speaker profile, to try out different targets or EQ curves, without applying any correction, particularly when using UAD hardware as there isn't an alternative tool for this.
