SoundID on Android sounds different than Reference on Windows

0

Hi,

I am using SoundID Reference on Windows and the SoundID Android app. What I was hoping for was to have the same headphone profile on the go and when working in a DAW. Both the Android app and Reference have the “Studio Reference/Flat Target” profile.

Sadly this is not the case and on Android (Moto G73) there is a significant bass lift even with any user configurable audio processing disabled. Is it possible that manufacturers mess with BT headphones even when you disable everything? Or is this a feature of the consumer-facing SoundID app?

Best regards,
Vaclav

Can you share some screenshots of your SoundID target settings on Android?

Okay, so you are using the flat profile in the mobile app. So what are your preset settings in SoundID Reference?

One reason why they might sound a bit different is that that the mobile app uses a variation of the Mixed filter mode by default, without any other options to choose from, whereas SoundID Reference has Zero latency, Mized, and Liner modes available.
