Interim conclusion Voice AI current version 2.0.1.5334

Ok, here's a little interim conclusion from me about the current status (on my Windows 10 PC) after the installation errors and the license problems.

I currently have Voice AI 2.0.1.5334 installed. This version (like 2.01) was easy to install again. Voice AI loads without any problems in both Cubase 13 Pro and UA Luna DAW. Now to the licensing issue. I also bought a perpetual license which can currently only be activated using the trial button. And that's exactly what I did, pressed the trial button in my account and it actually activated it.

But be careful!!!!! When I then opened Cubase again and wanted to load Voice AI, Cubase immediately froze completely and could only be ended using the task manager. I tried this three times with always the same result. Freeze!!! So I tried this process in the current version of UA Luna, with the same result. Luna also froze when trying to load Voice AI. What ultimately helped me was completely uninstalling and reinstalling the current Voice AI version. Afterwards, Voice AI could be loaded back into Cubase and Luna, the perpetual license is now also active in the Voice AI plug-in and I was able to download all presets.

What I noticed, however, is that in the preview of some voices there seems to be reverb/space on them. Simon or Gabriel are completely dry in the preview, Rebecca and Samuel or even Elton have Room. This occurs in both Cubase and Luna. And I didn't insert any reverb plug-ins on these channels or add any via aux. It's just the pure Voice AI plug-in in the insert. It wasn't like that before, I'm pretty sure.

Regardless, the rendering process works again and no reverb/room from the preview can be heard in the final audio.

These are my first findings after a short quick test.

Joerg Scheuer thanks for posting your feedback, glad to hear it's up and running after the Windows install issue hotfix. The trial/activation logic issue in the user account will be resolved shortly too.

For the DAW issue, it is a bit alarming that you had two separate DAWs affected. Since we don't have any other user reports on such behavior, let's assume that it was a unique edge case for now. Please let us know if the issue returns though - we'll then have a closer look.

For the reverb question on the Preset previews: this has actually been implemented intentionally. The presence of reverb in the previews is intended to make preset selection easier in a musical context. Regarding the specific presets, some indeed contain significantly less reverb. That is our mistake, which we will fix in the next update (all previews will feature reverb). I hope this answers your questions, many thanks!

Hi Kārlis-Stenders,

Thanks for your answer.

So I wasn't wrong about the voice presets with reverb in the preview. I think the idea itself is good and will certainly be helpful for some people. Personally, I don't necessarily need it, but it's good that it's there. Maybe in future updates there will be the option to deactivate the reverb in the preview, i.e. a switch between voice with reverb and voice dry.  But that's just a side note and certainly not an important feature.

As for the problems I had after activating the trial button and the freezes in both Cubase and Luna, I don't know what the problem was. Maybe it was just a local problem in my W10 system. In any case, a complete reinstallation solved the problem.

2 votes for the reverb on/off feature! I would like to be the one who decides if I want reverb or not. Thanks!
