I can not use SoundID Standalone via Pro Tools

Hi there,

Greetings from Japan.

I always use the SoundID Reference.
Previously, even when I had the Pro Tools Playback Engine set to the audio interface, I was able to monitor sound through the SoundID Standalone.
However, for about a month now, the Pro Tools signal seems to bypass the SoundID Standalone.

Please let me know if you have any information :)

naruki.engineer thanks for posting!

I'm not sure how it was configured before, but if you wish to use the standalone app as your DAW output (instead of using the DAW plugin format), you'll have to assign the SoundID Reference standalone app driver as your DAW output (otherwise, assigning it straight to your audio interface will effectively bypass the standalone app).

For PT specifically, it is not possible to set two different devices for your input and output. Assuming that you still want your audio interface to be used for PT input, and use the SoundID Reference standalone app for your PT output, you will have to create a PT Aggregate Device to combine the two components into a single virtual device.

On macOS, this is done via the Audio MIDI Setup utility. Basically, you create an Aggregate device using your audio interface for input channels, and the SoundID Reference app driver for output. Once you have this Aggregate Device created, you can assign it as your Audio Engine in Pro Tools.
