Sound ID not Upgrading past 5.10.0.54

I currently have Sound ID Reference v5.10.0.54 installed on a 2018 Mac Mini running OS 10.15.7 and every time I open the software I am prompted to do an upgrade (previously it was offering v5.11, now it's offering v5.12). I install the upgrade and as soon as I relaunch the software it launches v5.10 and offers me the upgrade again. I've restarted and uninstalled, no luck.

Anybody else had this issue?

Rian Lewis thanks for posting!

macOS 10.15 Catalina is not compatible with the latest release versions, instead the 5.9 legacy version should be used. Details here: SoundID Reference software releases (component matrix and support status)

This should happen automatically upon installation, as the installer will detect the OS version and serve the correct 5.9 version. I'm not exactly sure how version 5.10 got installed - probably a temporary loophole in the installer logic, which has been fixed since then. You'll want to proceed with these steps:

  1. Back up your speaker profiles (save the .swproj files to a different unrelated location): Where can I find my speaker profile?
  2. Uninstall the software completely, and make sure to remove all leftover files and folders as shown here: [MAC] How to uninstall SoundID Reference
  3. Reboot your computer and reinstall using the regular online installer; download here (the correct version should now be installed)
