Sound ID Reference integration into consumer interface

I see there are slowly increasing numbers of audio interfaces that have Sound ID Reference integrated, eliminating the need for the app or DAW plugin. This is a fantastic feature to have, but at the moment it's limited to professional level interfaces. Are there any plans to introduce this feature to an interface that's a bit more affordable?

Andrew Wilson sure, ideally, we'd like to have SoundID Reference integrated into as many devices as possible - devices of all kinds and price ranges. Introducing an integration with an entry-level interface sounds great, as it would be affordable and cover many users.

You have to remember though, that running calibration directly on the device requires built-in DSP on the device, which is not yet widely available in cheaper interfaces. Built-in DSP is usually a thing for higher-tier hardware. On top of that, there have to be some DSP features and software control associated with it too (otherwise there's no point in having that DSP), so producing such a device is a costly endeavor, adding to the price.

As the technology gets better and more manufacturers include DSP in their hardware, it is likely that eventually, we'll start seeing cheaper devices having DSP too (let's say, in the 500 USD price range or even below), which would give us a chance to integrate.

The full list of currently available integrations can always be found here: SoundID Reference Integrations. Do you have a specific device/model in mind for your request? Thank you!

Hi, thanks so much for your reply.

I have the Antelope Audio Zen Go interface, which has DSP but doesn't cost too much. If you could integrate SoundID Reference into that and it's simply a matter of a firmware update for me (rather than having to buy a new unit), that would be amazing!
