I recently calibrated my studio monitors to mix at 80db. To achieve this I lowered the output volume of SoundID Reference to -22 db. How can I save this adjustment in my calibration so that I don't have to manually lower the output volume on a new projects?
How to save manually adjusted output volume of calibration?

Brando Marius the preset adjustments in the SoundID Reference DAW plugin are saved automatically. If you make an Output Gain adjustment for a specific preset, remove the plugin, and then load it again (even in a different DAW and a different plugin format), that adjustment will be recalled in the new instance. All you have to do is select the correct preset from the left sidebar, in which the adjustment is made. You'll probably also want to create a DAW project template with the plugin already loaded.
This is false. When I open Sound ID system wide it retains the -22db output setting. However, when I open a new instance of the DAW plugin with the same preset it does not. As a result I have inadvertently received a blast of higher SPL which is one dangerous and two unacceptable.
Brando Marius that's correct, there is no such saving mechanism between the DAW plugin and standalone app formats. As I explained above, the DAW plugin presets will retain their configuration across instances loaded, and even across different DAWs and plugin formats used (VST, VST3, AU, AAX).
The standalone app presets are separate and fundamentally different though, as they are based on the output device/channels used. Making the same configuration link that works across the plugin and the app would be a much more difficult endeavor, as it would be subject to a ton of potential bugs and failures due to the two fundamentally different configuration aspects, database sync, etc. This has been discussed internally as a potential feature additional in the future, but there is nothing planned for it on the product roadmap yet.
The standalone app presets work the same way though - each preset has its own output gain setting, which will also be recalled whenever switching between them. Of course, there is the additional operating system volume level aspect for the SoundID Reference app audio device. either way, the volume for the standalone app presets will stay the same as you left them before, but if you make volume changes on the OS level or on your audio interface, that would be a different control category, which is out of reach for SoundID Reference to automate.
