Volume Matching A/B test

I would like to ensure my volume remains the same with this plug-in and with it off. Why does SoundID make it lower? How do I volume match the track when switching between the plug-in on and off. Don’t I need these to be the same if I want accurate results. Confused on how I get the levels to match and any help would been very appreciated

Rafael Gonzalez thanks for posting!

The volume is lowered due to the Safe Headroom feature. It can be turned OFF and output gain maxed out (this will keep everything at the original level), but it is recommended to keep it ON to avoid clipping it. Here are some guidelines on how to incorporate it into your workflow:

There is also a more advanced routing solution possible to avoid the render-bypass workflow in the first place, see here: Using a dedicated monitoring bus for the DAW plugin

I hope this helps, thank you!

Hi Kārlis, thanks for the response. I responded through email that I’m hoping to hear back from soon but also had another question in the meantime. Does the Safe Headroom feature (other than lowering the volume) act as a limiter? Essentially, could I just turn off the safe headroom feature and then add a limiter after the plug-in to ensure there is no clipping on the stereo output? Would this make sense? Or is there a way to adjust the ceiling on Sound ID?
