A friend of mine has a microphone.  Can I just buy the program and use that microphone?   Also, how many computers can I use it on?

Hi Mustafa Barış Gerekci,

Thanks for reaching out to us!

Yes, you can easily borrow and use a Sonarworks measurement microphone from a friend - the microphones can be used with any permanent or trial licenses (they are not locked to any specific license).

You can also use third-party mics from Behringer, DBX, Dayton Audio and others, as long as they are measurement mics specifically. If you're using a more expensive measurement mic like Earthworks for example, then you're pretty much good to go. If you're using one of the cheaper alternatives, they will still give you a good trial and a good idea of what the software is capable of.

However, it's definitely worth considering the software bundle with a Sonarworks mic included, if you're ready to buy the full product - we calibrate each of our mics individually for maximum accuracy. Therefore we're easily able to put our mic up against €500 measurement mics and still get top precision while keeping the cost down (each of our mics come with their unique calibration data to be used during the measurement stage). Our Measure app + Sonarworks mic will provide measurement accuracy of ± 0.9dB.

Let us know if you have any further questions!
