Anyone using AVID MTRX/Dadman?

Hello - I'm having problems exporting the Avid MTRX profile after completing the calibration. I followed the instructions multiple times but continue to get a failed to export error. I can export a parametric file to manually input the calibration but I can do that with other calibration software. Anybody tried this with an Avid MTRX or MTRX studio?

Hi Brian Carter,

Thanks for reaching out, sorry to hear you are encountering some trouble with the export. I noticed you also have a support ticket open regarding this issue.

The preset export error message that is being encountered in this case is a "Failed to export preset. Data validation failed: Channel filter count exceeds maximum filter count per channel" (this is during the preset export in the SoundID Reference standalone app). It could mean a couple of things such as:

  • Perhaps your DADman profile has some additional EQ applied;
  • The DADman profile has some data mismatch to your speaker configuration. In your original DADman profile, check if the speakers are mapped correctly and that any other devices are slaves when it comes to clock values, etc.. Double-check all the channels to see what EQ has been applied to each.

To resolve the issue, you can create a new DADman profile and set up your speakers again, this should resolve any issues that may occur. This means that you will have to go through the measurement process one more time to create a new DADman profile with SoundID Reference. I understand that this would be the most time-consuming part, but having a new DADman profile and remeasuring will most likely resolve this preset export error.
