Hello fellow SoundID users and Sonarworks team,
I've been using SoundID for a while now and I'm consistently impressed by its ability to simulate different listening environments. It's been an invaluable tool in my audio work, and I'm sure many of you share this sentiment.
Today, I want to propose an idea for a new virtual monitoring environment: an "Outside a Club" or "Outside a Room" setting. This environment would simulate the sound of music from an external perspective, focusing particularly on a muffled sound and emphasizing bass frequencies.
Why is this important?
- Real-World Simulation: It would provide a realistic simulation of how music sounds from an external perspective, which is crucial for DJs and producers who need to understand how their tracks might sound to those outside a venue.
- Bass Line Clarity: This setting would allow users to focus on the dynamics and the bass line of a song. Understanding how the bass translates in an external, muffled environment is key for producing tracks that sound great in any setting.
- Mixing Accuracy: It can help in fine-tuning the lower frequencies of a track, ensuring that the bass is neither overpowering nor too subdued when heard from outside a typical listening environment.
- Audience Perspective: For event planners and sound engineers, this feature would provide insights into how music spills out of a venue, aiding in better sound control and neighbor-friendly event planning.
- Creative Inspiration: It could also serve as a unique tool for artists looking for creative inspiration, simulating the experience of hearing music in a way that is not usually focused on in traditional mixing environments.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on this idea and any additional benefits you think this feature might bring!
