Hi all,
We hope you're doing well and are ready for a new exciting feature in SoundID Reference!
With the SoundID Reference 5.8.0. version release (Oct 10, 2023), we are happy to introduce the Virtual Monitoring Add-on. Virtual Monitoring delivers accurate spatial simulation of stereo studio speakers on your headphones, allowing you to take your headphone mixing to the next level: Here's a quick overview:
- Hear realistic simulations of high-quality near-field, mid-field, and far-field speakers calibrated to the reliable flat SoundID SR reference sound.
- Monitor your mix reliably on virtually simulated speakers inside your headphones.
- Works with over 500 supported headphones in our database that you can trust.
- Works with individual headphone calibration profiles for the highest accuracy.
- Includes 10 new spatial simulations for Translation Check (cars, laptops, TVs, and a smartphone).
- Available in the SoundID Reference standalone app as well as the DAW plugin.
Note: Virtual Monitoring is a paid license add-on, a base SoundID Reference license is required. A free trial is available for everyone, see these articles for more details:

Check out this new feature and let us know what you think!
Happy mixing!

The new add-on doesn't show up in the AAX plug in. Is it a bug?
Hi Stefano Bonzi, thanks for reaching out!
Yes, Virtual Monitoring is available across all plugin types (VST, VST3, AU, AAX). Make sure you have selected a headphone profile preset in the preset sidebar as Virtual Monitoring applies to headphone profiles only.
If the issue persists, could you please attach a screenshot of the License information in the plugin? Launch the plugin -> click on the three-dot icon on the right side -> select "License information" and take a screenshot of the plugin window.
Thanks in advance!
Hi! I'm Using the Audeze MM-100 which is unsupported by SoundiD, can I still use just the VM which I own? EDIT: I might have a workaround but it has a graphical bug. Since there is no calibration profile for MM-100 I choose whatever headphone profile and then enable "custom target" and drag both sliders either 20hz or 20khz for no calibration at all. This lets me enable the VM without calibration at least. But then you cant get rid of the Custom Target window :)
