When Is SoundID 5.7.3.17 Going to be Fixed?!

It's been almost one month since the abominable release of 5.7.3.17 with no applicable resolutions to the problems Sonarworks bestowed upon the SoundID community.  When are these well-known issues for MAC OS users going to be fixed?  The aggravation is beyond measure.

Hi all,

I wanted to post that this issue has been resolved with the latest SoundID Reference: v5.9.1.3, released Jan 24, 2024 (download here). With this update, the SoundID Reference audio device should be available in Mac Sound settings and Audio MIDI Setup.

If there is an issue remaining after installing the update, please check the tips mentioned here: [MAC] No sound / no calibration effect.

Thank you for your patience while we were working on a solution. Let us know how it is working for you!

Let me know how this goes if you have the chance to try out the beta. Thanks in advance!

Indeed, something bad is happening over there at Sonarworks.

Hi, thanks for your feedback!

Our developers are investigating the reported issues with SoundID Reference v5.7.3.17 update. Unfortunately, we don't yet have news on a fix version, but we will make sure to update you once we have more details available. Thank you for standing by while we are looking into this.

Turned on Sound ID today

Everything is gone! no presets or all the profiles I carefully put in. I have put up with all the glitches in the last 2 years. This is unacceptable.Turning off this software until this gets fixed

I just came across this thread tonight. I see that I'm not the only one experiencing a lot of bugs with this software. The application is no longer opening. It instantly quits and refuses to open. This started happening out of nowhere just a few minutes ago.

yes, systemwide is useless at this point.

I would suggest AT LEAST releasing the last beta as the main release then working from there

Yep, crashing on startup again after updating. Interestingly, @wats434 says they received version 5.8.0.235, but I just updated and the version I have is 5.8.0.231. This is on Windows 10 Pro. I found this error in the SoundIDReference_CEF_.log [1010/131042.521:ERROR:icu_util.cc(249)] Couldn't mmap icu data file. Oh well, sending a report now.

yeah, still not working here.... did a full uninstall and installed version 5.8.0.231 on Mac. wonder how Mark Watson snagged .235??

I am not venturing past 5.7.2.7 until all is fixed.  At least that version seems stable on the latest MAC OS.

I just updated and still having issues getting the application to open. When it does open, a notification pops up telling me to enable the microphone in the security section of my system preferences despite it being enabled already. I'm on a Mac btw.

New updated not working. Crashing. Great. No versions of the software are working. At. All.

mpenton, I reverted back 5.7.2.7 and got it to work on my MAC Studio system.  Your can download that version HERE.  The directions for uninstalling the current version is HERE.  You also need to delete the HAL driver (a step the tech guys failed to mention) but don't delete your calibration files.  This is the only way I could get back to normal until the upgrade storm settles and is stable.

Here to chime in that version 5.8.0.23 does NOT resolve the coreaudiod high CPU / fans-are-now-hair-dryers issue caused by SonarworksASPProxy in my case either - hope that saves someone else the effort in trying; it's still busted.

Original support note: [MAC] CoreAudio and SonarworksASPProxy high CPU (on macOS 10.14 & 10.15).

Reverting to 5.7.2.7 works OK here.

Hi all, thanks for your comments here!

I wanted to note that the SoundID Reference 5.8.0. update does NOT yet include the fixes for the reported macOS issues that appeared with the 5.7.3. update (such as the missing driver, SonarworksASPProxy high CPU, app crash with UAD devices connected). Our team is still working on it I hope we can release a fix update soon, we'll make sure to update you on that.

As for any issues encountered after the 5.8.0 update, please let us know. I see some of you have already sent in support tickets about the crashes or launching issues - thank you very much for this!

Hey Zane, isn't that like manufacturing and selling a new car without a steering wheel and then releasing a new model with upgraded leather interior and sound system that still has no steering wheel?  Good grief!!!
