Should Volumes On Audio Interface Be Set To Full?

1

Hi, I am using the SoundID Reference app on my Windows 10 PC with a 1st gen Focusrite Scarlett 18i8 audio interface. I have a pair of Sennheiser HD 650 headphones and also a pair of Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 250 ohm headphones and for my speakers I have a pair of Presonus Eris E4.5 studio monitors.

My question is, should I be setting the volume knobs on the Scarlett to full after SoundID calibration is applied? SoundID has safe headroom turned on and lowers the volume by -9.3db for my Sennheiser's (as an example) so would it be better to set the headphone volume on my audio interface to full or does it not matter? Is it just more about what's comfortable for me?

With my speakers I have the volume knob on the front of those set to the central 12 o'clock position and the volume on the big Scarlett monitor knob set to full. In SoundID, it applies a -8.6db cut with safe headroom.

Thanks for any suggestions.
