SoundID Reference software releases (component matrix and support status)

SoundID Reference software releases and support statuses, compatibility with various operating system versions, and detailed component information.

In this article:

• 5.12 Release version
• 5.9 Legacy version
• 5.2 Legacy version

5.12 Release version

The current 5.12.0.50 Release version is the only fully supported version in active development, see Release notes for details. System requirements:

• macOS 11 Big Sur, 12 Monterey, 13 Ventura, 14 Sonoma 
• Windows 10, 11
• Stable internet connection (offline use not supported)

The current Release version is the recommended version to use, and the latest version is always featured in the SoundID Reference online installer (download here).

Note: compatibility with older operating systems is possible with the 5.9 and 5.2 Legacy versions, learn more below.

5.9 Legacy version

5.9 is no longer in active development, support is available within Warranty terms only. System requirements:

• macOS 10.14, 10.15, 11 Big Sur, 12 Monterey, 13 Ventura, 14 Sonoma 
• Windows 10, 11
• Stable internet connection (offline use not supported)

Final version: 5.9.2.5, see details in Release notes. 5.9 is available for download via the Customize section of the online installer. If a macOS 10.14 or 10.15 operating system is detected during installation, the current Release version will be unavailable, and the 5.9 Legacy version will be installed automatically.

Note: Warranty policies for Sonarworks Store purchases are tied to the system requirements of the current Release version (not applicable to Legacy versions). See the product descriptions in the Sonarworks Store before purchasing.

5.2 Legacy version

5.2 is no longer in active development, support is available within Warranty terms only. System requirements:

• macOS 10.12, 10.13 10.14, 10.15, 11 Big Sur, 12 Monterey
• Windows 8, 10, 11
• Stable internet connection (offline use not supported)

Final version: 5.2.3.2, see details in Release notes. 5.2 is available for download via the Customize section of the online installer. If macOS 10.12, 10.13, or Windows 8 operating system is detected during installation, the current release version will not be available, and 5.2 Legacy will be installed automatically.

To launch a new trial for the 5.2 Legacy version, submit a support request to obtain a trial key.

Note: SoundID Reference for Multichannel was introduced with version 5.3, and the Virtual Monitoring Add-on was introduced with 5.8 (both are unavailable with the 5.2 Legacy version).
