I want to heavily UP this post. Having Harman as an additional reference (maybe in the alternative devices section, where also the translation tests are) would be very, very helpful. Some projects just require me to check the mix on a Harman curve as well (as there are many headphones out there that fit more into the Harman than the flat/neutral region) and now I have to quit SoundID Reference, open an additional gain controller to my project to lower the ouput level to what I have to feed to my ADI-2 Pro fS BE, where the Harman-Target is saved as an individual DSP curve, that I of course have to turn on, first. Very annoying - because if I forget to switch on/off just one thing, I mix against whatever reference.
Cheers :)
Hello, I fully support this request. On all my mobile devices and headphones I used autoeq.app to equalize the sound to the Harman over-ear/ in-ear curves. Therefore, it would be highly desirable to do the same on my PC(s) using SoundID Reference. Honestly speaking, after having spent quite some money I was surprised that SoundID Reference does not support it and instead I have to use uncomfortable workarounds to get the crurves.
Hi, thanks for sharing your request! I've taken note of this for our product team :)
Thats really strange not to include Harman cuve target. Really needet request to update!
Please add the Harman Curve Option!
I'd really like to use this with SoundID, the flat curve for me and my HPs isnt working really, I tend to produce overly bright mixes with it, cause it sounds “dull” with SoundIDs flat curve.
After some time now I tested this against a Harman target for my HPs and the sound is far more natural and reference tracks really sound like they should sound, with SoundID flat curve its sounding dull and therefore doing bad mixing and mastering decissions.
I invested into the Sonarworks system having the full package incl the virtual room add on for HPs, but realized now that Harman curve is the way to go for me and my HPs now.
I tried to create a custom target for SoundID, but looks like I cant really get to the Harman curve in there, something is off and I would prefer having a target from your side.
So I'm not using SoundID anymore for my HPs, cause there is no Harman target and flat is dull and unnatural.
And for checking real world rooms and devices on HPs there are also other tools out there that I already have.
Looks like you are loosing a customer here in this regards…
Also, you have for Android Devices the SoundID app where you can like make a hearing test and create a correction profile for your ears, thats super helpful, but why do you not have that in your desktop app of SoundID?
I'm using HEARS plugin now for this.
And the more I think about it, the more I realise that I'm somehow disappointed in your solution.
And I think I will also jump ship for speaker correction too, there are other solutions out there
So please add Harman Curve and the Ear Correction Profile possibility as options, to get me back in the boat.
Otherwise… bye
(But you already got my money, so guess it doesnt hurt you in any regards… so no need to act…)
I also would really really like the Harman Curve! It would turn every headphone into the best musically sounding preset it can have.
Add Harman OE in the graphs, and then have custom controls to be a able to align/correct headphones close to target without needing to load a particular headphone profile.
I'm still here, pushing this request again and again… Sonarworks - please add this feature. You already own all necessary measurements. Zane… what did you accomplish so far? Cheers
I've also tended to use alternative options nowadays as I prefer the Harman curve over SoundID. I find SoundID sounds washy, smeared and dull in comparison to other solutions. Many successful professional engineers generally use curves based on Harman plus a neutral cross feed such CanOpener rather than a room or speaker emulator.
I really need the Harman Curve too.
I have recently purchased a pair of HIFIMAN Ananda Nano headphones they are currently not supported with a profile which has led me to find an alternative method to reach the Harmon curve using the online resource Auto Eq with this I was able to use a EQ in my monitor output of my DAW, my headphone mix translations are sounding the best since doing this and I would really like to be able to do this in SoundID and send it to my UA Apollo headphone output, a really easy way to be able to implement this feature would be to have a flat headphone profile which allows users to add their own EQ curve in the custom target mode.
How would that work? Would it appear in the targets area of the profile among car1 through car3, etc?
lets hope they make this happen
squig link by capra audio is doing some amazing things. Sonnarworks could learn a thing or 2. Actually just open up the headphone profile to be able to do custom EQ profile for correction, that way I could just copy correction from squiglink. OR if you could add harman combined or better yet diffuse field target as option.
