Systemwide hogs CPU in macOS?

Hello to everyone

I have i7 Macbook pro 2018. Have Firefox and Chrome open with multiple tabs, but looking at the Activity Monitor, nothing is using the CPU and the battery as Systemwide. It is the #1 most demanding process here, no comparison. It uses like 10% of my CPU while Firefox and Chrome are at 1-5%.

The fun part is - no music is playing. I am typing stuff, Systemwide is on just in case I want to listen to music during the day, and it is hogging 10% of my CPU without even being used.

Anybody has the same experience in macOS?

Yes I can quit the app, but it should always run in the background just in case. I thought it was built for that.

Yes, this is true - the CPU usage is pretty significant on Mac. The software drivers and filters are active constantly while Systemwide is running, so it doesn't matter if there is audio playing or not. But we are tackling this and aiming for a significant CPU usage improvement with the coming 4.3 update. Thank you!
