The 1-2 Cm part pushes my inputvolume into the red

Dear musical talents,

To start this topic I will start with this to make things more clear

- direct monitoring is off
- interface rate is at 44.1

That said,

During the "hold your mic 1-2 cm away" part. It pushes my meters at the first 2 sine sweeps into the red.
Lowering my speakers volume and increasing the inputvolume to the max gives me the "high noise level detected" window.
Not sure what to do here. 

But I think it is supposed to not pass the clipping zone?
