Microphone icon jumping around + "looks like you're using difference devices" (although i'm not)

So my first issues come during setup for the SoundID Measure. I choose “in 01-02” for my Behringer UMC1820 audio interface, no problem. Then when i choose “out 01-02”, it says it looks like i'm using different audio devices for input/output?? How can this be?

Anyway, i click “Continue Anyway” and proceed with the measurements. However, the microphone icon is jumping around so much that i'm unable to progress through the measurements - even though i have the microphone solidly on a mic stand.

I should also note then when predicting the distance between the microphone, that the software's guess is way off - between 10 and 20 cm after a couple of different attempts.

Can anyone help with this?

I too am having this issue and I can't get support to respond to me. I'm using a Focusrite Scarlett 8i6.

Try using the ASIO mode instead of WASAPI. I think that’s the key. I was having the same issue yesterday when I selected WASAPI, but was able to get it to work with ASIO and had no problems.

I thought I tried that, but maybe not. I'll give it a shot. Thanks.

No problem. A little clarification: use the non-WASAPI Reference application. There’s two versions installed. Open the Reference Measure without (WASAPI) and that should work (hopefully). Best of luck.
