Hi- new to the forum.
Recently got the trial package.
Thought I'd share my first impressions and see if anyone shares theirs. :-)
First off - I am using this to tweak open baffle speakers in my home.
They are currently two way units driven by independent amps.
I have Multichannel PCM audio fed by KODI ( HTPC ) to a high quality av receiver.
The audio is processed by a DAW prior to being sent out as two seperately eq'd and crossover'd (!) feeds to individual amps. Phew! - it is really simple honest.
I was hoping for good things when I tried the software.
It is being used with the ref mic.
Upon doing all the tests, i places two instances of the plugin- one after each eq'd feed.( i.e the bass feed , and the mid/high feed )
When I instance the sonarworks plugin, I notice an immediate improvement in the bass quality, but the midrange suffers a lot. I t becomes far too thin ??
The speakers now sound like good hifi, but they lose a LOT of the special quality they had.
I am lucky to have access to high quality DAW eq, and I am using NUGEN S EQ. This is a great linear phase eq, and on its own, as I said, provides a lovely sound, but I was hoping sonarworks would be the icing on the cake.
I shall try some more times, but at the moment, I am surprisingly disappointed :-(
Anybody else noticed anything similar, or can point out a way for me to improve my procedure?
