Mixcubes missing from Translation Check

Hi, I hadn't updated SoundID Reference in 6 months or so. When I did today I found that my most used feature - the translation check with Mixcubes (auratones) is gone! What the actual hell… This was the feature I use most frequently and one of the reasons I still use SoundID Reference. In the new Virtual Monitoring feature it is also omitted. PLEASE bring this back ASAP!!! On a positive side: Virtual Monitoring is a great addition, but it should not have been at the expense of a well running machine, the Mixcubes preset. If it ain't broke don't ‘fix’ it.

Brian Pylant that's correct, Virtual Monitoring has dedicated Translation Check (designed from the ground up specifically for VM). For the mixcubes, you'll have to switch off VM.

Hi Ruud Jacobs, thanks for reaching out!

The Mixcubes Translation Check preset is still available in the SoundID Reference latest version (v5.9.2), it has not been removed:

Since you mentioned you are also using the Virtual Monitoring add-on, when it is enabled, you will only be presented with 10 spatial simulation targets developed specifically for Virtual Monitoring, this may be why you are not finding the Mixcubes preset. If you disable Virtual Monitoring, all of the other Translation Check presets will become available again.

Of course, if you're unable to find this preset in the app or the plugin, please attach a screenshot of the app/plugin window with the Translation Check mode expanded where we can see the available presets. Thanks!

I feel like a complete idiot, thanks so much for this Zane! Great that it's still there :-)

Zane For me, these options are only occasionally visible (for a long time I thought they'd been removed, and was looking into alternative products to replace SoundID).

And, last time it WAS visible I marked both Studio Speakers as Favorites, but when those options are not visible they are not in my favorites either. So I have no way to actually select them, which is hampering my ability to use SoundID most effectively.

Not sure what's going on here, but it's really annoying to not have these options presented consistently.

There is no scrolling, those options are simply not visible / not selectable.

Am I doing something wrong?

EDIT: OK, I figured out that if I'm using virtual monitoring, I only get Cars, Laptops, Smartphones, and TVs.

If I turn off virtual monitoring I get those, PLUS Headphones, Studio Speakers, and Other.

Is this a bug?
