If you're unable to access our website and/or have trouble downloading the SoundID Reference installer, it's possible the hosts file on your computer contains the mapping of IP addresses of Sonarworks hosts names. This can lead to encountering other connectivity issues to our host as well. Follow the instructions below to resolve the problem on your macOS or Windows device.
macOS
- Click the Launchpad icon in the dock > type in Terminal in the search > open Terminal;
- Type sudo nano /etc/hosts > press Enter;
- Enter your admin password;
- Delete all Sonarworks related listings;
- Save the changes by pressing Ctrl + O;
- Exit with Ctrl + X
Windows
- Click the Windows button and type Notepad in the search bar;
- Right click on Notepad and then Run as Administrator;
- You’ll be asked, “Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?”, choose Yes;
- In Notepad, choose File then Open;
- Click the address bar at the top, copy and paste the path below and click Enter:
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
- Open the hosts file (if you don’t readily see the host file in the /etc directory then select All files from the File name: drop-down list, then click on the hosts file);
- Delete all Sonarworks related listings;
- Save the changes
