License activation keys
If you purchase Sonarworks software directly from our online store, your license activation key (see the example above) will be delivered to the email address you provided at the purchase. For physical products from third party sellers, oftentimes the key can be provided in the box physically.
How to find your key
If you are struggling to find your key, you should be able to locate it easily by searching for keywords like Sonarworks licenses or Sonarworks order in your email history.
If you haven't received your activation key within 5 min after completing the purchase, or if you're unable to find it, you can always contact our support team by submitting a request below and have the activation key resent to you.
IMPORTANT! If you have purchased your license from a third party seller, you will have to contact the seller for lost license issues. Our support team will still be able to help in most cases, however, the responsibility of solving such issues is no longer with Sonarworks when it comes to third party product sales.
Storing your key in your user account
Registering your license in the user account system is also a great way of making sure you never lose your activation key. This will also allow you to easily manage your licenses and active devices. To take advantage of this, register a new user account.
IMPORTANT! Purchasing or activating the software does not generate a user account automatically, and it also doesn't add your key to the account. If you're trying to log in and your email address is not being recognized, you likely haven't created a user account yet. Similarly, if you haven't manually added your activation key to the account, it won't be present there.
An activation key is not required for online trial activations. You can start your 21-day Reference trial simply using your email address (more details here). For an offline trial activation, however, you will need a trial key (for that, please submit a support request below).
