Individual Headphone Calibration support in SoundID

We are happy to confirm that SoundID now supports Sonarworks individual headphone calibration! IHP (Individual Headphone Profile) can be used in both the SoundID Profile Creation mobile app as well as the SoundID Listen Beta desktop app.

If you own a pair of individually calibrated headphones this article will assist you with connecting them to SoundID to personalize your listening experience.

Adding your IHP headphones in the SoundID mobile app (New Users):

• Tap on Search
• Input your headphone calibration ID
• A preview will show you the headphone model
• Tap "Continue" to select and add the gear

Adding your IHP headphones (Veterans):

• Tap "Headphones" from the main app screen
• Tap "Headphone model"
• Select "+ Add Headphones" 
• Tap on Search and input your headphone calibration ID
• A preview will show you the headphone model
• Tap "Continue" to select and add the gear

What next?

Once you have added your individually calibrated headphones in the mobile app and completed the Preference and Hearing tests, you can move on to the SoundID Listen Beta app on your computer and use the IHP profile there too.

Install SoundID Listen Beta on your computer to sync the profile and enjoy your favorite media with the personalized profile. Your IHP profile will be loaded automatically if that is the last one you used in the mobile app, but you can always change to using other headphone models and go back to IHP whenever you wish to.

IHP is available in SoundID Listen via the headphone search bar, similarly to the mobile app:

• Click on Change in the main window (or go to Settings > Headphones)
• Click on Add Headphones
• Enter the calibration ID in the search field to find your IHP headphones

Anything else?

Yes! With Music Apps Beta currently on Android 9.0+ devices, you can use your SoundID profile with individually calibrated headphones too, for music playback too, not just for creating your personalized sound!
